The story might be from last Christmas,
but it’s also one that’s always just around the corner—because Christmas comes every year, and so does the joy that comes with it.

As the new year begins, we make wishes:
for health, happiness, love, and maybe even a little luck.
We may not always catch the first sunrise of the year, but we can still hold hope in our hearts.

And sometimes, a simple wreath becomes a symbol of all those wishes—carefully made with your own hands.

🌿 Why We Make Wreaths: Meaning, Intention, and Healing

At Deojaram Horticulture Farm in Miwon-myeon, Cheongju, we joined a special winter workshop to create our own Christmas wreaths using fresh, natural materials.
It was our first time, but it didn’t feel difficult—because more important than the skill was the intention behind each touch.

Wreath-making is more than decoration.
It’s a way to pause and reflect, to set gentle affirmations for the months ahead:

“Today will be brighter than yesterday.”
“Even through difficulty, I’ll grow stronger.”
“May my family stay healthy and my heart remain calm.”

This small act of creation becomes a moment of meditation.

🍃 Nature is Where We Return to Ourselves

According to research in plant psychology and environmental genetics, humans are wired to seek nature.

Our bodies are most resilient to stress when we are surrounded by greenery, sunlight, and fresh air.

And yet, in today’s world, most of us live indoors—work indoors, exercise indoors, and go days without more than 30 minutes in the sun.
So we bring nature inside: in the form of plants, flowers, even handmade wreaths.

These quiet interactions with green spaces are how we restore our self-healing power.

🌱 A Simple Act of Wellness—Accessible and Intentional

Wreath-making may seem small, but it offers something many of us need:
a few slow minutes to breathe, create, and connect—with nature, with ourselves, and with the present moment.

Whether it’s Christmas or not, whether it’s your first time or fiftieth,
a wreath can mark a transition, a hope, or just a reminder:

“You are grounded. You are growing.”
