🌿 Growing Minette Basil From Seed: A Complete Guide From Sprout to Bloom

Minette Basil is a compact, globe-shaped basil variety known for its perfectly rounded form and tiny aromatic leaves.
It’s one of the most attractive basil types to grow in pots, especially for indoor gardeners.

I grew Minette Basil from seed and recorded each stage — from the first cotyledons to the flowering stage.

1. Cotyledon Stage — Minette Basil Sprouts

The seeds germinated with small round cotyledons.
Even at this early stage, Minette Basil shows compact, tidy growth.

3. Four to Six True Leaves — Stronger Structure

    8. Measuring the Leaf Size

The leaves are extremely small — only a few millimeters wide.
Measurement shows their miniature scale, which contributes to the tidy appearance.

    9. Flower Spike Formation

Eventually, Minette Basil produces a small flower spike.
While some growers pinch flowers to extend the leaf harvest, I let it bloom for documentation.

The flowers are small, delicate, and add charm to the globe shape.
