🌿 How I Created a DIY Pothos Green Wall in My Office Using Simple Grid Panels

Green walls are known for improving air quality, reducing stress, and making indoor spaces feel more alive.
But most commercial green wall systems are extremely expensive.
So I decided to build my own DIY pothos green wall in the office using affordable materials from a local Korean store (Daiso) and 10 cm Scindapsus plants.

This post shows the entire process — from the first temporary setup to the final black-background installation — and how the green wall looked after one month.

If you want an easy, low-cost way to bring nature into your workspace, this guide will help you build your own.

1. Creating a Temporary Green Wall Using a Grid Panel

I started by attaching a wire grid panel and a wire shelf from Daiso to the office partition.
Then I placed 15 pots of 10 cm Scindapsus (Pothos) into the grid as a test setup.

Even the temporary version looked surprisingly good and instantly brightened the room.

2. Expanding to 18 Pots + Adding a White Drip Tray

As the plants were watered, some moisture dripped down.
To prevent watermarks on the wall, I added a simple white tray beneath the pots.

The setup was expanded to 18 pots, creating a fuller appearance.

3. Completing a Full 24-Pot Green Wall

Eventually, I filled the entire grid with 24 pots.
This formed a dense, lush green wall that covered the center of the office partition.

It already felt like a small indoor jungle.

4. One Month Later — Growth and Filling In

After one month, the pothos vines grew noticeably thicker and fuller.
The green wall became more natural and blended perfectly with the workspace.

5. Removing the Wall & the Background Black

To upgrade the design, I removed the grid panel and changed the background to a matte black surface.
A dark background makes green foliage stand out dramatically.

This step transformed the entire atmosphere of the office.

6. Re-Installing the Green Wall on a Black Background

Once the black partition was in place, I attached the grid panel again and reinstalled all the plants.
The contrast created a striking modern look.

7. Final Green Wall — Scindapsus on Black Background

The finished green wall feels clean, modern, and vibrant.
It acts as a natural focal point in the office and brings calm, freshness, and visual comfort to the work environment.
