🌿 Propagating and Repotting Monstera Adansonii and Cebu Blue Pothos
From Free Plant Cuttings to Thriving Leaves – My Groro Giveaway Experience
In February 2024, I received two beautiful plant cuttings from a Groro free plant-sharing event:
Monstera adansonii and Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’.
Until then, I hadn’t been particularly interested in foliage plants. But thanks to this opportunity, I became fascinated with the Epipremnum family—especially those known for their trailing growth and stunning leaf textures.
🍃 Repotting Monstera adansonii Cuttings
After receiving the cuttings, I prepared them for rooting and growth.
Monstera adansonii, known for its delicate, fenestrated leaves, was carefully placed in a breathable pot with well-draining soil.
A few weeks in, the plant began to respond positively—eventually producing a new leaf that captured my attention.
Its shape and texture were perfect, showcasing the charm of a healthy Monstera adansonii grown indoors.
🍃 Repotting Epipremnum pinnatum Cebu Blue Cuttings
Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’ is popular for its silver-green tone and elongated, slender leaves.
While initially the new leaf appeared small, it gradually expanded over the following days.
Although some veining on the leaves was prominent—almost like visible plant "veins"—the overall health of the plant seemed stable and encouraging.
With time and proper care, the Cebu Blue has started to show its true potential.
📈 +50 Days Growth Update
About 50 days after the initial repotting:
- The Monstera adansonii gifted me with a beautiful new leaf that looked like it belonged in a plant magazine.
- The Cebu Blue developed a second leaf. It looked small at first, but it steadily grew larger and more vibrant.
The subtle shimmer and texture of the Cebu Blue give it a refined and unique appearance among indoor plants.
Even with pronounced veining, it adds visual depth to my plant shelf.
