🌿 📌 LG Tiium Mini Review & How I Grow Plants With This Korean Hydroponic System (My Personal Purchase)

LG’s Tiium Mini is a compact hydroponic grow box sold exclusively in Korea.
Since many people outside Korea have difficulty finding real user reviews (and it’s not even available on Amazon), I decided to share my full experience using the device for over two months.

This is a personal purchase, and I currently use two units at home.

1. What Is the LG Tiium Mini?

The LG Tiium Mini is a small indoor hydroponic garden system designed for beginners who want to grow plants at home without soil.

It includes:

  • A compact LED grow light
  • A built-in water reservoir
  • A seed kit tray
  • Quiet airflow system
  • Automatic light cycle

Although it looks small, it can grow flowers, herbs, and leafy greens surprisingly well.

2. Inside the Box: What You Get

When unboxed, the Tiiun Mini includes:

  • Main grow chamber
  • Detachable water tank
  • Seed kit box
  • Seed trays
  • Nutrient solution packets
  • Light and pump system pre-installed

I photographed the unit next to a Korean Daiso watering can for size comparison.

3. Disassembling the Unit

The device can be separated into simple modules:

  • Upper LED light housing
  • Middle plant chamber
  • Base water tank
  • Tray for holding the seed kit

Everything snaps in easily, and cleaning is straightforward.

4. The Seed Kit

The seed kit includes:

  • A small box with growing media
  • Seed holes
  • Individual capsules for planting
  • Seeds for flowers or herbs
    • In my case: Vitamin greens

You simply place seeds into the pre-made holes and insert the tray into the device.

6. Preparing the Seeds

I used:

  • Zinnia seeds
  • Vitamin leaf seeds

You simply drop 1–2 seeds into each seed hole.
No soil required.

7. Filling the Water Tank

The water tank is easy to access.
LG recommends replacing water and nutrients weekly, but I tested it by only adding water for two months—no problems at all.

  • Plants still grew well
  • No slime buildup
  • No strong smell
  • Roots stayed healthy

The water tank is more durable than expected.

8. Performance After 2 Months of Use

Here’s what I’ve experienced:

✔ Pros

  • Very clean hydroponic system
  • Quiet
  • Strong LED growth
  • Great for flowers and greens
  • Perfect for small rooms or desks

✔ Cons

  • Only available in Korea
  • Price is around 200,000 KRW (~$150 USD)
  • Seed kits must be purchased separately

Still, I liked it enough to purchase two units.
